Job Summary

The IT Field Technician 1, supports the Lead Implementation Support Specialist in field deployments, onboardings, and service calls. This role involves hands-on installation work, staging and preparing equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and assisting in the documentation of customer environments for handoff to the service team. IT Field Technician 1 may serve as lead on smaller jobs when delegated.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Field Support & Installations:
• Assist in the installation of Crexendo VOIP phone systems and related infrastructure.
• Support Audio/Visual service calls for legacy customers.
• Aid in customer onboarding tasks, including workstation setup and peripheral installation.
• Equipment Staging & Logistics:
• Prepare and stage equipment for upcoming installs.
• Assist in shipping and receiving of MNS equipment.
• Help maintain organized inventory in the parts cage.
• Documentation & Handoff Support:
• Assist in gathering technical information during onboardings.
• Ensure all relevant details are accurately recorded and submitted to the Lead Implementation Support Specialist.
• Customer Interaction:
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers during installs.
• Communicate clearly with the Lead Implementation Support Specialist on job status and issues.
• Process & Team Support:
• Follow standard operating procedures for installations and inventory tracking.
• Take on lead duties for smaller jobs when assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with company standard tools such as ConnectWise PSA, ConnectWise Automate/N-Central (RMM), and IT Glue for documentation.
• 1–2 years in technical installation or field service preferred.
• Basic knowledge of VOIP and Audio/Visual systems.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Some overnights may be required.
• Core IT Responsibilities:
• Assist in configuring and deploying computers, network devices, and related peripherals.
• Support network connectivity setup, including patching into switches and verifying connections.
• Assist with server rack installations, patch panel work, and cable organization.
• Test and validate system performance after installation or onboarding activities.
• Follow IT security best practices during all installations.
• Required to pass a drug screen and background check

 

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
